Overnight the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 22.82 points, or 0.23%, to 10043.75.

U.S. stocks erased losses, paring a global retreat in equities. The Euro wiped out most of its declines against the Dollar and Yen on speculation financial reform will hurt bank earnings less than estimated. Continued concerns over the European financial system and worries about tensions on the Korean Peninsula weighed on the market.

On the local front the XJO should open the session in the positive today. The SFE futures are suggesting we will see an open around 4339 up 65 points. With weakness in base metals prices overnight we may see some of the resources open softly but hopefully find their feet throughout the session. On a good note gold has breach $1200 an ounce again which should see both NCM and LGL head higher.

Today’s market action is very important, the XJO needs to hold above 4200 and this will establish a new uptrend and set the market for a move higher over the next couple of months.

ORI EX dividend today for 41 cents.
GPT EX dividend today for 1 cent.
